Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Amanda’s Creative Corner (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit mavixbio.com, including Amanda Crochet (free crochet patterns and tutorials) and Amanda Recipes (the recipes section). Both sections are run by the same team and follow this same policy. By using the website you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

mavixbio.com is a personal publishing website run by Amanda. If you have any questions about this policy or about your data, contact us at hello@mavixbio.com or through our contact page.

Information we collect

Information you give us. We only collect personal information that you choose to send us:

  • Contact form and emails: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, so that we can reply.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: your first name and email address, so that we can send the newsletter you asked for. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can ask us to remove you at any time.
  • Comments and reviews (where enabled): the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address is never published.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and the services listed below automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. This data is used to keep the site secure, fix problems and understand which content is useful.

Information stored in your browser. Some features, such as remembering your cookie choice or remembering that you already tapped a “made this” or rating button, store a small value in your browser (a cookie or local storage). This stays on your device.

How we use your information

  • To run, maintain and improve the website and its content.
  • To answer messages and questions you send us.
  • To send the newsletter, only if you subscribed.
  • To show advertising that helps keep the website free (see below).
  • To protect the website against spam, fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share the information you give us with anyone except the service providers who help us run the website (such as our web host and email provider) or when required by law.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners to show ads on this website. These companies may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure how ads perform.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for things like frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We and our partners use them for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: needed for the site to work, for example to remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
  • Advertising cookies: set by Google and other ad partners to show and measure ads, as described above.
  • Functional and performance data: used to remember small preferences and to understand how the site is used.

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline optional cookies. You can also delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website works.

Third-party services and embedded content

Pages on this site may load content or features from other companies, for example web fonts from Google Fonts, “Pin it” and share buttons for Pinterest and other social networks, and embedded videos or images. These services may receive your IP address and set their own cookies, and their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, the retailer may use cookies to record that the sale came from our site so that we can earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. See our Disclaimer for details.

How long we keep information

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider for security purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR (EU/UK) and US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information; you can opt out of personalised ads using the cookie banner and the links in the Advertising section.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email hello@mavixbio.com. We will respond within 30 days. Where we rely on consent (for example for the newsletter or personalised ads), our legal basis is your consent; otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the website.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and we take reasonable steps to protect information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
