Why You'll Love This Floppy Eared Dog Amigurumi Pattern with Blue Hat Pattern
I love how much character he has. Two white eye patches, a big black nose and a pair of teeth, and he is already smiling.
Every piece is small and quick to make. The long ears are just simple tubes, and the hat makes him look so proud.
Switch Things Up
Make the hat in red or green for a different look. Change the shirt colour to orange or yellow. Try soft brown ears and a cream muzzle for a puppy. You can also swap the hat for a small crocheted bow tie.

Assembly Instructions
- Pin the head onto the top of the body with the face looking forward, then sew all the way around the 24 stitches of Round 19 with the long tail.
- Sew the two white eye patches to the upper front of the head over Rounds 7 to 14, standing tall and close together. Cut two small black ovals from felt, or embroider them with black yarn, and attach them to the lower part of each patch.
- Sew the muzzle below the eye patches over Rounds 13 to 21, then sew the black nose to the top of the muzzle. Sew the two white teeth under the muzzle, side by side, so they peek out.
- Sew one black ear to each side of the head near Rounds 9 and 10, so they hang down past the muzzle.
- Stitch the free back loops of the hat crown to the top of the head around Round 5, with the brim sitting level.
- Sew the straps to the front of the body at Round 11, cross them behind to Round 11 at the back, and sew one yellow button over each strap on the front.
- Sew the arms to the sides of the body at Round 14, with the white gloves resting near the legs. Sew the legs to the bottom of the body at Round 4, pointing forward, then sew a grey shoe to the end of each leg.
- Weave in all ends, trim any loose fibres and shape the ears so they hang evenly.

Crochet Abbreviations
You Ask, We Answer
How big is the finished dog?
He is about 8 inches (20 cm) tall when sitting, made with worsted weight yarn and a 3.5 mm hook.
Can I use a different yarn weight?
Yes. Bulky yarn with a 5 mm hook makes him bigger, about 12 inches. Sport weight with a 3 mm hook makes him smaller, about 6 inches.
Is this dog safe for babies and can I wash him?
The pupils are felt or embroidery and no safety eyes are used, but sew the buttons on very firmly or embroider them for children under 3. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and air dry.
