Hi, I'm Amanda
Welcome to my kitchen
I am a home cook who believes the best meals are the ones shared. Here I share the cozy, reliable recipes my family asks for again and again, all tested in my own kitchen.
- TestedEvery recipe cooked at home, more than once
- HonestReal prep and cook times, no shortcuts hidden
- SimpleIngredients from a regular grocery store
Some of my happiest memories happened around a kitchen table. Flour on the counter, something bubbling on the stove, and a room full of people waiting for a taste. I didn’t grow up thinking I’d write recipes. I just loved feeding people, and I was always the one who asked, “Can I get the recipe?”
These days my kitchen is where I unwind, experiment and, honestly, make a lot of mess. This little corner of the internet is where I share the dishes that make it into our regular rotation: the cozy soups, the weeknight dinners that save the day, the bakes that disappear before they cool, and the drinks I make when I want to slow down for a minute.
How I write my recipes
Every recipe here is cooked in my own home kitchen, with regular pots and pans and ingredients from a normal grocery store. I make each one several times, adjust it, write it down step by step, and then make it again from my own notes to be sure nothing is missing.
- Clear steps written the way I’d explain them to a friend standing next to me.
- Honest timings, measured while I actually cook.
- Swaps and tips for when you’re missing an ingredient or cooking for picky eaters.
What you’ll find here
Comfort food, mostly. Creamy pastas and one-pot soups, crowd-pleasing snacks, fresh salads, fall baking and plenty of desserts. Nothing fussy, nothing that needs a culinary degree. Just good, generous food that makes people linger at the table.
When I’m not cooking you’ll probably find me with a crochet hook in my hand. If you love making things too, my free crochet patterns live on the other side of this site.
Let’s cook together
If you make one of my recipes, I’d truly love to hear how it went. Questions, tweaks, family verdicts, I read every message. Sign up for my Sunday recipe letter below and I’ll send you the newest recipe each week, along with a seasonal tip or two.
With love from my kitchen,
Amanda
My kitchen promises
What you can count on
Recipes that work
If a recipe is on this site, I have made it in my own kitchen and tweaked it until it turned out right every time.
Real-life timings
I time myself while cooking, so "30 minutes" means 30 minutes on a busy weeknight, not in a TV studio.
Food for sharing
Big flavors, generous portions and dishes that bring people to the table and keep them there a little longer.
