Pink and White Flower Bedspread Crochet Pattern
You need to be comfortable with double crochet, working in chain loops and joining motifs as you go.
Every flower is small, so you can make this big cover a few flowers at a time.
Pink and white flowers sit in a checkerboard, linked by tiny filler flowers.
About This Pink and White Flower Bedspread Crochet Pattern Pattern
This bedspread is made from 99 large flowers and 80 small filler flowers. Each large flower has eight petals with an open teardrop hole in the middle of every petal, a white ring center and a pale edge. Fifty flowers are pink and 49 are white, laid out like a checkerboard.
The finished size is about 72 by 88 inches, with each large flower measuring about 8 inches from tip to tip. You will use double crochet, single crochet and chain loops, and you join the flowers as you work the last round. It suits crocheters who have finished a few blankets and want a showpiece for the bedroom.
Why You'll Love This Pink and White Flower Bedspread Crochet Pattern Pattern
I love that each flower is small enough to tuck in a bag. You can make one in a waiting room, and a whole row by the end of the week.
Pink and white feels soft and fresh in a bedroom, and the cover looks like a garden spread across the bed. It makes a lovely gift for a new baby girl or a wedding.
Switch Things Up
Try lavender and white, mint and white, or soft yellow and cream. Make 5 by 6 flowers for a sofa throw, or 4 by 5 flowers for a baby blanket. You can also join 2 by 3 flowers for a matching pillow cover, or change the shell edge to a simple picot edge.

Assembly Instructions
- Make the 99 Large Flowers through Round 4, 50 in pink and 49 in white, and make the 80 Small Filler Flowers.
- Lay everything out in 9 columns and 11 rows with a pink and white checkerboard and a filler flower where four large flowers meet, as in the Layout and Joining section.
- Work Round 5 of the first row of large flowers, joining each flower to its left neighbor and to the filler flowers.
- Work Round 5 of every following row, joining each flower to the flower above, the flower on its left and the filler flowers on its diagonal tips.
- Check that every filler flower is joined to four large flowers and that no joined tip was skipped.
- Wet block the whole cover flat, pinning the petals open and round, and let it dry completely.
- Work the Outer Edge around the whole cover, then weave in all remaining ends.
Common Mistakes & How to Fix Them
Making the ch-7 loops in Round 3 uneven. Keep every loop the same length so the petal holes match.
Joining the wrong tips. Only petals 1, 3, 5 and 7 join to other large flowers, while petals 2, 4, 6 and 8 join to filler flowers.
Losing count in Round 5. Check for 12 sc on each petal so the outer edge total of 1,824 stitches works out.
Joining with right sides together. Keep the wrong sides together so the joins stay neat on the front.
Important Notes
Gauge: after Round 5 each large flower should measure about 8 inches tip to tip. Make one flower first and change your hook size if needed.
Yarn amounts and sizes are estimated from the photo, so buy a little extra pink and white and keep the same dye lot together.
Block the finished cover flat so the petal holes stay open and the flowers lie evenly.
Wash gently in cool water with a color catcher, because the pink yarn can bleed onto the white. Dry flat.
I hope you enjoy watching this flower garden grow, one little flower at a time. Send me a message when your first row is joined, I would love to hear how it turned out.
Crochet Abbreviations
You Ask, We Answer
How big is the finished bedspread?
With 9 by 11 large flowers of about 8 inches each, it measures about 72 by 88 inches. Add a column or a row of flowers for a larger bed.
Can I use a different yarn weight?
Yes. Worsted cotton with a 4 mm hook makes flowers of about 10 inches, so you would need fewer flowers. Keep the stitch counts the same and check the flower size first.
How do I wash and care for it?
Wash on a gentle cycle in cool water with a color catcher, then lay it flat to dry. Reshape the petals by hand while it is damp.
